Blues and R&B vocalist, also known as King Ernest, first played in Chicago with blues guitarist Byther Smith's band during the 1960s. He became popular as a local soul artist with a strong, expressive voice and a great live show. He worked with Tyrone Davis and Syl Johnson. He recorded with a number of labels, but never achieved national success. He eventually moved to California in 1980. Very hard to find Chicago soul that straddles both Northern and Modern sounds. This single has been luckily reissued on 7inch by the UK label "Grapevine" in 2000. The best track : "alone again".
