Jess & James, the blue-eyed soul duo, always got backed up by the J.J. Band. But in the late 60s they had a dispute: Jess & James wanted to make soul music, while the J.J. Band wanted to play music like the group Chicago. Luckily, their style evolved to funky pop with some jazz influences once in a while. The group is based around the persons Ralph Benatar (Sax and Flute), Douglas Lucas (Trumpet) and Francis Weyer (Guitar), the people who played on most of the El Chicles-related records (SSO, Sumo's,...). The album was produced by Roland Kluger (Jean Klugers brother). There are some breaks on this album and the great cover version of the Gamble and Huff track 'Love in Them There Hills', that was a hit for the Pointer Sisters and The Three Degrees.
