iI wouldn't quite use the term "WICKED" to rate this song. It's been written up as the best Rock & Roll song you've never heard...and it should have been a monster hit back then...and was, at least in Pitsburgh, Swan folded around then...and without records to sell, well, it didn't go to the top.
Mickey's amp blew up in the studio as the songs was coming to the end...listen to that ROCK amp soundsz!!!!
Pure ROCK power galvinates and gyrates throughout.
Mickey had trouble speaking normally for about 2-weeks after that session.
YOU try and sing it like he did!
I'm sure he was gratified by the numerous covers of his song (co written with brother Bernie)....The Action and Hey Sailor...fo0r one.
But, listen, NO-ONE could get his first chord right!!! And NOBODY could play guitar like Mickey.
Hats off to the LANE!!!
