Recorded live during the Manchester Jazz Festival on July 26th 2011, this project instigated by pianist Adam Fairhall mixes in an intricate and intriguant way past and present; the delta in the title is with no doubt the Mississipi and with the help on one side of samples of old blues and on the other of a band of highly versatile British improvisers, early jazz forms are recalled, mixed with contemporary techniques and twisted into new more contemporary shapes. If clarinet, trumpet and trombone are here to shout their glorious past, no saxes are present!
