L'inglese Seelie Court conferma la sua reputazione di etichetta instancabile nella riesumazione e riproposizione di artisti e registrazioni considerate "perdute" ristampando ufficialmente su CD l'omonimo album dei Grannie, gruppo proveniente dalla Greater London e artefice di un disco edito originariamente nel 1971 su etichetta SRT, oggi considerato un piccolo gioiello di progressive rock underground d'epoca grazie a un sound heavy ma anche melodico non dissimile da quello di band coeve come Leafhound, Dark o Bodkin. La brillante chitarra e le composizioni di Phil Newton spiccano in questi sei brani da lui registrati con il cantante solista Fred Lilley, il bassista Dave Holland, il batterista Johnny Clark, il tastierista John Stevenson e il flautista Jan Chandler e rimasterizzate per l'occasione; il disco è custodito in una confezione formato mini LP contenente anche i testi delle canzoni.
The British label Seelie Court confirms its reputation as a tireless entity in unearthing and reissuing artists and recordings considered lost by officially reprinting on CD the self-titled album by Grannie, a group hailing from Greater London and creator of a record originally released in 1971 on the SRT label, today considered a small gem of vintage underground progressive rock thanks to a heavy yet melodic sound not unlike that of contemporary bands like Leafhound, Dark, or Bodkin. Phil Newton's brilliant guitar and compositions stand out in these six tracks recorded by him with lead singer Fred Lilley, bassist Dave Holland, drummer Johnny Clark, keyboardist John Stevenson, and flautist Jan Chandler, and remastered for the occasion; the record is housed in a mini-LP format packaging that also contains the song lyrics.
