JORGE BEN
samba nova
Media : LP
New or Used : Used
Grading cover / record : VG  /  EX
Label : Island Records
Press : HELP 23 - UK
Year : 1976
Calling all lovers of tropical grooves and sun-drenched gems! Today, we're taking a look at a record that oozes 70s Brazil, lovingly pressed in the UK. Jorge Ben is the king of "Samba-Rock," and Samba Nova is a pure dose of acoustic bliss and hypnotic rhythms.
What makes this copy special for us "diggers" is its small manufacturing flaw: the labels are reversed! It's the kind of quirk that adds to the charm of a collection. Musically, get ready to take off with "Oba, Lá Vem Ela" or the mystical "Hermes Trimegistro." It's the perfect album to accompany a late afternoon, a blend of jazz, samba, and that signature languid vocal style. Black Island logo, pink "i" with "HELP 23-A/B." A direct ticket to Rio without leaving your turntable.
