stray birds once again fly off into another metamorphosis, where Kristoffer fully [and triumphantly!] returns to his unbeatable hypnotizing vocal duties, yet it is far from an easy going experience [2005], rather on the contrary: this emergency-room excursion is completely disturbing and surgically precise, merging elements of progressive rock, classical, electronic, and avant-garde music, creating a complex and richly textured sonic landscape, its mentally shape-shifting forms are mastered with a wide array of instruments and unorthodox operational techniques, offering more variety and infinite interpretations to coincide with a sense of theatrical grandeur, making this album a profound and thought-provoking exploration of sound that pushes the boundaries; if you think you are open-minded enough for anything Ulver do, think again before getting this mental nine-tracker!; recent British white vinyl edition comes with two pro-printed inserts, one of them includes lyrics, another - new liner notes and previously unpublished related images
