Reality band was started in 1970 in Amsterdam by 8 musicians born in Surinam, Curaçao and Aruba. Their first album was released by Dureco - Pink Elephant label.2 years later, on their second album, the group was called "Tony Sherman And Reality". In 1973 T. Sherman went solo with another album, and the group Reality changed for "Solat" name, another great funky Band.

Reality's first album was indeed released on Dureco Blue Elephant, although the LP has a "Pink Elephant" label. Their second LP was called "Tony And Reality" (not Tony Sherman And Reality; Tony Sherman was the singer of the group though) and was released in 1973 on the indepent Dutch "Sound Records" label. Tony Sherman also released an album on his own, simply called Tony Sherman, in 1973 on the Dutch BASF-label.
