In around 1980 the articulate and forward thinking Michael Martin took over the management of Paradise and in the process helped to successfully secure an excellent record deal with British Christian record label, Pilgrim records. Pilgrim added Paradise to their subsidiary label (Ebony records). From here Paradise were to be given the creative freedom to write and produce an album which they entitled 'Paradise'. In 1981 legendary gospel singer Andrae Crouch employed Paradise as a support act during their nationwide UK tour, ending at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. In 1982 a second and even more lucrative deal was secured with impressed record executives at Pilgrim records. By now the band had grown to a 9-piece outfit and included key lead singer/songwriter Doug Williams and the soulful Philip Baily like Falsetto of Paul Johnson. The Gospel Funk Sound Is Birth !!!
