 The gospel funk sound !
Last January during a journey in England, I met « Steve Smith », a brilliant 41-year-old scientist of Jamaican origin, living in a residential part of London.
Until then all had seemed normal. Digging further in my investigations I managed to enter his universe, so-called English Gospel and all its associated styles like Gospel-Funk, Gospel-Soul...
After five minutes with him I realized I was in the presence of a serious « Funky Gospel-O-logist » who explored all tracks in order to perfect his knowledge of « British Gospel-Fusion ».
In the short term, Steve would like to write a book about that style of music in order to share his knowledge about the origins of that music and his meetings with artists like Paradise, Kainos, Paul Johnson...
If you have never heard any British Gospel-Funk, I invite you to listen to his play list and read his focus about the emblematic band Paradise, which will give you an idea about his style and his implication.
