Hello, my name is Robert.
I almost became a DJ – almost.
Music has always been part of my life. My grandfather was a sales director at Bertelsmann Music Group: Ariola, Electrola, the Bertelsmann Music Ring. In our family, records were never just decoration. They were ordered by mail, listened to consciously, played a few times – and then carefully placed on a shelf.
Over the years, this has grown into a collection of around 2,500 carefully selected high-quality records. Not mass-market items, but music chosen with taste and intention. Jazz, concerts, opera, swing. Piano, guitar, harp, organ. A little pop, a little rock – always with character.
Today, at 57, I am rediscovering this music.
I listen again. I catalogue and organize everything in my own database, and from time to time I let go of selected records so they can be played and appreciated again – not left forgotten.
I inherited a Thorens turntable, a TD 125.
